SDAPA AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

     Every year the SDAPA seeks to recognize those Physician Assistants and a physician who serve our communities with excellence.  Individuals you know with outstanding clinical achievements, professional accomplishments, who participate in civic activities, research, community service and mentoring.  We are currently seeking nominations for awards. 

For nominations, please provide: 1.  a short letter of support detailing the qualifications of the nominee, and  2. a CV/ resume of the nominee.

 

Deadline for nomination submissions for 2018 PA of the year Award is July 1st, 2018.  Please email your nominations to the SDAPA executive secretary, Cathy Berg at executivesec@sdapa.net 

 

Criteria for Distinguished Service Award

  • PA must have been actively practicing for 10 years.
  • PA must be involved in community service or education.
  • PA must be involved in state and national organizations such as SDAPA and AAPA.
  • PA may be involved in mentoring or precasting PAs and / or PA students.
  • PA may be involved in research.
  • PA may be in the military.
  • PA may have written for publication.
  • Nominations are rolling for the Distinguished Service Award.  This award may be presented at the March CME conference in Rapid City, SD, or at SeptemberCME conference in Sioux Falls, SD.

 

Criteria for Collaborating Physician Award

  • Must be a South Dakota Physician who works with PAs, is in good standing, and currently practices medicine in South Dakota.

Nominations are rolling for the Collaborating Physician Award.  This award may be presented at the March CME conference in Rapid City, SD, or at SeptemberCME conference in Sioux Falls, SD.

 

 

Criteria for PA of the year Award

  • PA must be currently practicing as a PA and in good standing in the state of South Dakota.
  •  Has demonstrated noteworthy contribution to patient care and/or the PA profession in the past year.
  •  Has exemplary behavior and professional performance that embodies the values of PAs.
  • Current SDAPA member 

     

    **no other definite criteria is required but the following may also be considered:  Previous involvement in the SDAPA, AAPA or other organizations, Previous/current leadership in their own healthcare system, PA preceptorship, publications/research, additional awards and recognition. 

Nominations are rolling for the PA of the year Award.  This award may be presented at the Fall CME conference in Sioux Falls, SD.
